Word count divided by reading speed. The default of 238 words per minute is the average silent reading rate for English non-fiction found by Marc Brysbaert’s 2019 review of 190 studies. Adjust the speed to match your own pace.
How is speaking time calculated?
Word count divided by 140 words per minute, a typical pace for presentations. Conversational speech is faster, around 150 to 160 words per minute.
