How to use the bullet point generator

  1. Paste your text.
  2. Slide Length toward Shortest for a few headline bullets, or toward Thorough to keep detail.
  3. Press Make bullets and copy the result straight into slides, email or notes.

What makes a good bullet

Good bullets are short (under about 20 words), start with the key word, and use the same grammatical shape as their neighbours, for example all starting with a verb or all with a noun. The generator follows those rules and groups bullets under headings only when the text clearly has separate parts.

Bullets are for scanning. If the ideas depend on each other (because, therefore, unless), a short paragraph may serve your reader better; the paragraph summarizer or the main summarizer can do that.

Questions people ask

Can I use the bullets in PowerPoint or Google Slides?

Yes. Press Copy and paste; each bullet lands on its own line. Download .txt is there too.

Does it change my meaning?

It condenses wording but is instructed to keep every fact, number and name as written. Review before sending anything important.

How many bullets will I get?

It depends on the text and the Length setting: Shortest gives a handful of headline bullets, Thorough keeps most supporting points.
