Paste a long email or an entire reply-all thread. You get where things stand now, every ask with its owner and deadline, and the dates and figures that matter, without the signatures and quoted history.

Summary

Your summary will appear here, with how much shorter it is than the original.

  1. Paste or upload your text, or press Try a sample.
  2. Pick a format and length.
  3. Press Summarize email. The summary appears as it is written.

How to use the email summarizer

  1. Open the thread, select all the messages and copy them (in Gmail, “Print all” then copy works well for long threads).
  2. Keep Key points for the full breakdown, or choose TL;DR for a one-line status.
  3. Press Summarize email and paste the asks into your to-do list or reply.

What it pulls out

Long threads bury the decision in message eleven and repeat everything in quoted replies. The email summarizer reads the thread as one conversation, reports the latest position (if a date changed halfway through, you get the new date) and lists each request with the person asked and the deadline, when the thread names them.

Signatures, confidentiality disclaimers and text repeated inside quoted replies are ignored.

Before you paste work email

Text is sent to the AI only to create the summary and is not stored by SmartSummarize. Even so, follow your organisation’s rules on pasting internal or customer data into third-party AI tools, and remove personal data you do not need summarized.

Questions people ask

How do I summarize a long email thread?

Copy the whole thread, paste it here and press Summarize email. Or by hand: read the latest message first, list every request with its owner and deadline, then note anything still undecided.

Does it read quoted replies?

It uses them for context but does not repeat them, and when a later message changes a detail, the summary reports the newer one.

Can it draft my reply?

No. SmartSummarize only summarizes. Use the asks and open questions as the outline of your reply.
