How to use the executive summary generator

  1. Paste the report text or choose its PDF.
  2. Keep Key points for the classic layout, or Paragraph for an email-ready version.
  3. Press Summarize and put it at the top of your document or email.

Bottom line up front

An executive summary is written for someone who may read nothing else. That is why it opens with the conclusion, not the background: the decision or result first, then the two to five findings that justify it, then what should happen next. It keeps the numbers, because “margin fell 2.5 points” is actionable and “margin declined” is not.

The generator only lists recommendations that the report states or clearly implies. If your report has no recommendations, it leaves that section out rather than inventing advice.

Questions people ask

How long should an executive summary be?

Commonly about 5 to 10 percent of the full document, and rarely more than one page. The Length slider controls this.

Is my report kept confidential?

Text is sent to the AI only to generate the summary and is not stored by SmartSummarize. Still, don’t paste material your company forbids sharing with third-party AI services.

Can I summarize a business plan?

Yes. Paste the plan and the summary will highlight the opportunity, the numbers and the ask.
